Notes: "Reflections" #1", was painted by Hovsep Pushman, circa 1920, and is listed in the Pushman inventory journal, #1. We all recognize his wonderful still life subjects but few realize that Mr. Pushman began his career as a portrait and figure painter. In fact, Pushman didn't exhibit his still life paintings until the 1930's. The puzzle is, where are the rest of these wonderful figure paintings? As you digest Hovsep Pushman the artist, you realize that he is an important American icon.
