Notes: "Twilight Tales", is listed as number #407 in the Pushman inventory journal. The painting is on re-lined canvas; light surface grime; not examined under black light and is in an original Pushman, hand-selected frame. Pushman's still life's are both symbolic and spiritual. Although not for all of his works, he sometimes accompanied a painting with a reading, which helped explain their allegorical significance. Most important, they were exquisitely beautiful, executed with technical precision. "Twilight Tales", exemplifies the stunning beauty, mysterious mood and impeccable technique that made Pushman’s work so highly respected. NOTE: This lot will be included in Lucy Ishkanian's forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the complete works of Hovsep Pushman.
